Our trip to Museé d'Orsay

Being Friday what would you expect to see at a museum, but a hundred or so school kids on a field trip to Museé d'Orsay. Makes going to Vancouver Art Gallery seem very small. The kids were busy in the main hall drawing the sculptures. Tammy this would warm your heart.

d'Orsay was once a train station which makes sense when you see the big clock at the entrance. In the late 70s it was restored and turned into a museum. A lot of the items in the museum where donated. The other way they received items was when you couldn't pay your taxes. Needless to say they have a lot of new items in the museum.

This is the first museum one we've been to where no cameras are allow. So, away the big Canon went and I enjoyed the experience in real time. I did manage to take a few pictures before we entered so you get an idea of the space.

This was on our way to the museum. I thought Tammy would enjoy knowing Paris is full of bikes.

A quick stop on our way to d'Orsay.

Some of the incredible apartments by the courtyard of d'Orsay.

Looking just inside d'Orsay under the big clock.

Couldn't help taking another picture of the arches leading into the Louvre.

A beautiful row of flower shops on our way home.

Some lovely ladies enjoying their afternoon cigarette on the balcony.

Even Bugs Bunny comes to d'Orsay.
